Cycle magazine once described the in-line 4 cylinder motor as the "18 year old blond in a bikini" of motorcycle engine configurations.

Do you know what was meant by this??

Abba-Solutely..... Its like an 18 year old blond in a bikini because it is not afraid to get down and dirty, but is still reserving itself for future adventures... If you get involved with an 18 year old blond in a bikini you know you are in for an exciting time.... but know that she can put up with your clumsy banging in the middle of the day.... And like an 18 year old blond in a bikini she needs plenty of lube if you want her to get up and boogey with you (and in your case, probably a blindfold too).

balanse wrote:Taking this analogy .. what would be the "54 year old red head in a track suit" of engine configs?

It would have to be the single cylinder.......... Sure it goes, but man..... does she torque way too much or what?

Reason 2
3 Dimensional Storage sizes:
A square or rectanglular shaped box can store more than any other shape, since an equalateral triangle of the same height and width can only contain a third of a square and a elipse can only contain a fraction of a rectangular box (X*Y*Z - 4/3 PI * width axis radius * length axis radius * height axis radius) . The same applies for any other polygon (althought the calculations would be much more complex).... Hence, the rectangle or square is the most efficient storage size possible.

well phark me

Ive tried the rest..... Thought I would try the best :)

My last bike was a 99 CBR600F3 with dynajet kit, rear reduction, after market pipe and zorst... personalised number plate PRVRT 8)

Was this a deliberate mistake? I own a '99 cbr600 and it is an F4, also denoted as FX. The 97-98 was an F3 and the 01-02 was the F4i.

No Mistake... My CBR600F3 was factory stamped with 1999, and was certainly an F3 not FX. I suspect it was probably one of the last F3 off'f the line at honda...

Well, some people make it a long story... but basically, a long time ago a factory racing team wanted to have a special colour that would set them appart from all the other teams, they hired an artist to come up with a decent paint scheme... the colour he came back with was a mix of yellow and blue, 9 parts yellow to 1 part blue... They loved it, painted the bike.... and the Kawasaki factory loved it too apparently and started painting ALL their bikes that colour...
