no not really
JFK couldn't sell what he didn't own!

Vic only owns 30% (NSW and the Feds the rest) of the Snowy scheme
and seeing as they NOW reckon they want the money (...typical)
Bracksie has got them to sign the sale contract
....$700 MILLION back to Vic

there ya go...

Where does the Federal money go??

3% public debt and interest
6% general public services *Roads is in here I'll wager*
7% education/training
8% health
16% Other ?
17% defense

AND

43% Social Security

Around 1/2 of all the tax dollars go to aged pensions, sole parent pensions, low income families, unemployed folk, carers *the new one*, Disabled pensions, refugees, indigenous funding deals, on and on and on...

Personally i'm glad we have social security though, would hate to imagine it being like the US where if no job in 2 weeks (might be months) then you're on your own and also we need to look after our old folk, the majority would have paid their fair share of taxes so only right they get some of it back when they can no longer work.

I'm glad too Mick, nothing wrong with SS. I put the figures up cause it helps explain why we pay so much tax, and why the roads don't get all the resurfacing we would like
