Dear Dr. Stereo,
I grew up in a poor rural catholic family of five children.

My question to you Dr. Stereo is, with a new bike, when should you switch to synthetic oil?


Thank you very much for your question sir. It has often been a debate in my household as to when one should swap from a fossil based oil to a synthetic oil.

Fossil fuel companies will tell you that fossil based oil is superior in every way but requires more changing.. while synthetic oil companies maintain that their product is superior in every way...

Your sister is a great advocate non-petrolium based lubricants, as am I.... And as I was saying to your mum the other day at the Dog & Bone... The pro's know where its at...

Your sister is quite right......... Non petrolium based lubricants wins out over natural ones in the long run...

At your first major service (12,000k) change to semi synthetic... Then 8,000km later swap to fully sythetic... It will reduce wear and running temperature....

Yes, although the rotation of the earth will need to be reversed (to change the polarity of the world)... Mankind would not survive this, so I am afraid you will never get to see it... We would also miss the moment of zero gravity.... what a bummer....
