Just read you saying you had powers on your 03 6r... how did you rate them for that bike as I am up for a pair of them... How long did the rear last?

Thanks,

Martin

I got 7000kms out of my last rear power was a bit of commuting and trackdays in that.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Just came back from three days around Bright,Vic{approx 1400k,s} The Qualifiers were very good{as good if not better than Pilots} I pushed pretty hard sometimes and no worries at all, including a greasy ride down the Spur. It just now comes down to the K,s :?: :?: :?:

How's the Dunnie Quallies going GB ?. By the way what did they cost for a set ?. Be interesting to see how these & the new Avon's compare to the more popular brands.

I just bought a set to throw on the 9, Got them fitted on my spare rims for $400 but i generally get a pretty god deal. I had no complaints from the 208's they replace and apparently these are alot better. Was going to get the GP's but was told if i got 1,400kms out of them then i would be lucky so i just opted for the STD Qualifiers. Not sure how many K's you'll get out of them but i was pretty happy with the 4,500kms igot from the 208's

Good price GB sounds like they have gone the snaeky route & removed belts like Michilen did with the Pilot Powers to get more grip, Stone punctures on sportsbikes does'nt make me wanna race out & buy a pair.
So was it repairable or did it Fark the Carcass ?.

$50.00 later, they say it,s ok but I wonder? Has anyone had this problem of a puncture repair and is it still OK to ride at high speed? I,m a bit pissed that at 1500k,s and they may not be speed rated anymore, maybe Dunlop need to know that their tyres can,t run over a stone and servive, cheers

I have used plugs on several occasions over the last 20 years. Provided they are fitted properly, and the carcass is not damged, they are fine. I have even raced on them on two seperate occassions.

My 05 ZX6 copped a nail in the BT014's on it's first trip too. I plugged it by the side of the road at Mansfield and rode it another 4000klms before it was totally worn out and needed raplacement. It never leaked or lost pressure, or deformed.

If you get a new tyre and it punctures, patch the thing from the inside, don't plug it. Will cost you around $40 - $50 but IMO i think thats the way to go. Just make sure you havn't sprayed any of that shit that comes in a can to stop the tyre deflating.... or you cant patch it

I have plugged my front and rear tyres with self-fix plug before and run them a good 3000k or more, and ride at 200kph (true velocity, not indicated ) with no problems whatsoever.

That's the beauty of tubeless tyres. Even if the plug went off, it would deflate gracefully (i think  )

Don't quote me though. And never plug sidewall puncture (not sure why).

I need to replace my rear tyre now. What is the cheapest stuff I can get for 180/55/17 tyre ? Shinkos ?

if they are 1/2 as good as a GPR 70, you will love 'em :P

Back to the topic, I fitted a set of Qualifiers on Thursday, haven't had a chance to really *test* them out yet, but hopefully will do so over the weekend sometime.

Early indications are good, and plenty of tread depth for some quality tyre-pen work !!!
