Braided brake lines

Afternoon all,

Im enquiring about braided brake lines, have been told there great.
So can someone tell me why they are great? Whats so good about them?

there is no food in brake lines.

they are good because they stop the bike better. Rubber hoses stretch after a while with the pressure build up inside them doesnt hold well over time.

Whereas braided lines maintaine their strength and give better braking.

Not all braided lines are ADR compliant.... Some are for circuit use only. they are the screw fittings. So if you are concerned about your bike being RWC. Then try n hunt up some that are DOT approved.

There are a fair few options, Hel, Goodrich, Aerotek just to name a few.

Are they the same as the ones on ebay?
I know they are the same brand, just not sure if the same seller.
My missus is gonna kill me

I was told (by Austreetfighter) the ones on ebay are old stock and not ADR approved..

my brakes feel spongy as hell (even though its a new bike)
i would like to make it better and $160 is small price to pay for better control.

Goodridge do a nice braided line as well.

FYI: braided lines reduce "brake fade" and improve feel on the brakes.

gotta get my arse into gear and buy a set for the 9r.... always had em on my race bikes, but never road bikes for some reason....

my bike has em and they feel oooohhhh so good...
no fade..great feel (a bit like me really)...

as mina said the rubber lines on stock bikes often have a bit of "give" in them...they expand and contract..whereas the braided ones dont, so u get a more uniform braking in all conditions...

great for stoppies & endo's...

Hey, also give u better feel at the lever a firmer pull, but try http://www.johnstamnas.com for Goodridge lines many colours good price this is where i got mine for 6 first upgrade on any bike from now on.

I put HEL braids on my ZXR250 and I've never looked back, light to moderate braking feels quite similar, with the lever getting firmer quicker than with rubber lines. My rubber lines were only 8000km old though, so there may be a bigger difference in some of your bikes.

Under hard braking they make a massive difference in bite vs. lever pressure, lever feedback and control. I've just bought a set for the track bike, as I was going to swap the ones from the 250, but I wouldn't enjoy riding as much without them
And yes, they make stoppies so much easier

Braids will be the first modification I make to every bike I ever own from now on.
