Master cylinder bleeding

Mon Mar 20, 2006 4:52 pm

I've been having dramas getting all of the air out of my master cylinder since fitting braided lines. Today I took a novel approach to the problem. Air bubbles always end up in the highest place, so I simply made the callipers higher than the master cylinder by unbolting it from the bars and threading it down through the front fairing to below the callipers. I then proceeded to bleed the brakes and what do you know, out comes a decen't chunk of air. Overall it was a bit fiddly but the result was worth it. :D

So do they feel better now?

I haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but the lever has noticeably less travel before it starts working. I'll let you know tomorrow. :)
update: breaks are the best they have ever been. :D
