If you frequently do track days there's nothing that can improve your riding more, and you dont need to get someone with a stopwatch timing all your laps.
This group buy is for a 'ready to race' package, it contains everything you need to start recording lap times and improve your pace.
Even if you are mildly interested, express it here (no obligation) and I will try for the best price possible.

All Kawasaki ZX6R's and 10R's (past 03) have a lap timer built into the bike.........

I'd luv one but visible lap timers are banned at E.C. and P.I. on track days... They don't even like ppl using stop watches.

You'd be surprised how many spectators are on there mobile phones during sessions though..

Hey stereo ever tried finding the button at 130mph whilst your lining up the brake marker comeing into the woopedos.

Never cheap these timers but probably the quickest way to get your times down.

Madkaw do they frisk your bike for timing devices? There suposed to be banned at QR as well for trackdays but theres beacons all over the pit wall.

Yeah MadKaw, how do they police it? Do they walk along checking spectators etc to see if they have beacons and shit, or just the bikes?

And 7THSIN, can you hit them up for a price on the usb lead for a mychron 3 race dash in the group buy? Dunno if I will get one yet, the things are way overpriced.

Every Track Day at Mallala I've been to there are a few transmitters along pit wall, I think it's just a case of the blind eye though.

I've had friends time me with stopwatches before, and while it gives you a good idea after the session, it's not very good on the fly, unless you can remember that you took a different line through turn 4 on lap 6 then compare it with the stopwatch after to see if it was quicker.

HemiDuty - I will get a price for you tomorrow. If the group buy is successful I'm sure they can knock off a few dollars on the USB kits, as I'll be getting one for my timer anyway.

If they see any tranmitters they confiscate em.
The ARDC are the ones who have made the rule and if they do an inspection of the track and see timing devices they threaten to shut the day down.. I don't think it has happened though...
My misses always has the stopwatch and has never been questioned so I don't know how serious they are.
CSBS run all the days at the Creek and P.I. they are sticklers for the rules...

i'm not quick enough to have to worry.

and even then, i've seen a bloke with a stop watch mounted just below his left handle bar with big buttons, so he only needs to take his hand off for a split second to tap the button.

and he can remove it in about 10 seconds so he can review his times.

uhm... its right there.... dont have to look for it.... the basically the exact oposite to the indicator on the other hand...

You probably have to practise it a bit, but I use it regularly on long trips (mainly because I am bored on long trips)

I used the zx10's inbuilt lap timer at my last track day.
Not as acurate as the stop watch but pretty close...
I'd push it at the 300m corner marker on the straight, only problem was if I missed a shift or had someone close or something, I'd miss the marker...

I'm with Bob on this one, i tried using mine at QR last time.

First challenge is picking a part of the circuit where you have a moment to grope around for the button, i picked the start finish line on the front straight between 4th and 5th gear and missed my shift point 3 out of 7 attempts while i fumbled around looking for damn button at over 200kph!

I'm not beat yet, i think i'll use the much more accessable horn button as the lap button on my 03 ZX6R track bike

Only need a couple more people to get this going, is anyone interested in a cheap lap timer?
