ZD1000 rear suspension

Postby pk » Thu Feb 23, 2006 11:16 am

Hi all,
I want to change the rear shock on my 03zed 1000, and i have heard that a 636 fits.
has any one had any exprience with this mod?
is it as simple as just a swap or more to it?
more importantly will it raise the rear of the bike?
by that i mean are the 2 shocks the same over all length.
i am looking at getting one from the bike wreckers.
All info would be much appreciated.
thanks

i've read about this on riderforums.com
and some have mentioned having to grind down the bottom mount so it fits in, but that about all. pretty good if you ask me.
but whats the spring rate going to be like? the 636 is a bit lighter than our armoured vehicles..
