Dealers who do the right thing.....

When Cougar picked out her bike at SpotOnMotorcycles ( http://www.spotonmotorcycles.com.au ) they said quite quickly that they would fix any problem that she experienced with the bike within 3 months..

At the time I remember thinking "Sure, if she brings a shotgun you will!"....

Yesterday she had some trouble getting the bike started, the battery appeared to be flat...

Today she took it to them, they happily checked the charging system, checked the regulator rectifyer, found some loose (not unplugged, just loose) wires, and tightened them...

The battery appeared to be ok, but they decided to replace it JUST IN CASE...

that is great service!

thats a first. never heard of bike shops giving after sale service.

Great to hear Stereo....I bet you or Cougar go back there or recommend them to friends (or the few million people who view this), and all it cost them was keeping their word.

Jack Pengelly has always been a straight shooter, who sells a good quality motorcycle and backs it up. I have not heard any bad stories about Spot-on in the 20 years I have known Jack and his Business. As an independant non-franchised used bike dealer, he is one of the best. Glad you n Cougar were looked after Stereo!

And good onya for starting this thread, as we should all share the positives of a business as much as we do the negatives.

yeah he even let me recliam my deposit, the next day, just after i'd given him my deposit i found my zx2 that was cheaper and in better nick, he was cool with it too, which was tops.

Always great to hear cause we have been bike hunting so will look it up...

Ive had good dealings with Sydney City Motorcycles at Lane Cove and Kogarah. When I got back from a trip to the oxley on the GS it had a fuel blockage and they wheeled her into the workshop, cleaned the carby and patted me on the helmet. TOtal charge $0. Im not a huge fan of their service dept at Lane Cove but otherwise good chaps.

Dont say that Jonnie! Theyre the ones charged with fixing the Z! They did bend the chain adjusters, scratch the swing arm on the old GS but they did fix both no questions asked.

do you realise that they didnt and may still not hold kawasaki shims in stock ?

buy a bike there but get your services done elsewhere

Thats what happened to me, bought a bike off someone 'cause they were the only guys that had it. Then realised there was a problem with the zhaust, i.e. it was FARKED. Told them it had worn thru and was paper thin and i doubt it'd be weldable, they said come bring it in and they'd fix it up wit a welded plate.

My biggest issue with the dealer i bought it from, i swear the guy in charge of bike sales was frigging DRUNK, he stank of stale whiskey when i bought the bike off him. I figured his guys may be good, but im not about to take my chances

I said "uhm, ok" and then took it to tuffy mufflers and left it with them for a day and got a totally ace setup sorted out for only $160 or so .

Only pain in the arse was it was about 8km from home so had to get the not-bike-friendly missus to pick me up from there and then I had to take the bus there the next day.
