Probably has hit the rev limiter a few times when i missed a gear though.

Fibbing on the tacho is fine, but to activily market this "feature" as an advantage over other bikes, thats just wrong on so many levels

revs doesnt eqaull speed...or handling..or acceleration...
i woulda thought power, weight, torque, suspension were a lot more important...as said here..l250's rev to 19000rpm..but does that make em quicker than a zx10r??

Sure but imagine your bike had exactly the same power, weight and torque as it does right now, but was able to rev an extra 2000 RPM.... It would be a significant change to the way the power was delivered...

My son-in-law bought an R6 a week or so ago. Yesterday he received a letter from Yamaha. Here are some excerpts:
"Yamaha introduced and marketed the new R6 with a red line limit of 17,500 RPM as indicated on the tachometer. After testing production units, we ahve determined that the actual red line limit is approx. 16,000 RPM, resulting in a tachometer error of roughly 9%. This has no affect whatsoever on the performance of the motorcycle.
We are extremely confident that, despite this error, the R6 will more than satisfy you in every way. However, if you are not satisfied with you motorcycle because of this discrepancy, we will repurchase it and will reimburse you the entire purchase price, including setup fees, taxes, or interest that you have paid in connection with your purchase."
Like kitty cats in the litter box. Chris has until March 15th to decide if he wants to keep the bike or not.
