what to look for on a 94' zxr750

you see, good buddy of mine has an Odd fettish for this bike and really wants one.
he's found one in syd, and he lives on Coast nsw.
so im going to have a look for him

bike is 94 zxr750 its the green one, but is missing its lower fairing and is out of rego, he is a spray painter and is pretty good a fiddling, so is not worried about the fairing...
its got 62000kays on it
its got $2500 on it, what you guys think i should be looking for? besides bad crash damage.
from pics it looks like its falled on its right side... the pipe has a mark on it...

hmmm scratches are the least of the problem if he is a handy guy...

Tires,
Chains
is the frame "bent"
Forks, do they compress properly
rear suspension... is it still damping
Brake disks thickness (brake discs cost a fortune)
Does the engine run
Listen for weird noises (cam chain, clunking noises etc)
Is it leaking oil
Is it smoking when running..
Electrics, are all the lights working correctly, does it start correctly etc
Make sure you start it from cold... (in case it is hard to start)

Dont forget to do a check to make sure it is not stolen or has money owing on it.

well i ended up going to look at it 5 mins after i posted as he was going on holidays... haha

looks ok, itsa slid down the track once on each site, new levers and fairings and mayeb a pipe and it will be ok.
went ok, pain in the ass to ride, my beer gut sticks into the tank (i love my Z)
and yeah, a good service and a tune and it should be good.
he has the time and patience to do fairings.

Ive jsut finished putting together a ZXR750 95 model. Bought it for 2 bottles of bundy. But the thing was all in bits. THings I found with my bike when putting it together.
Check the top of the fork tubes especially with the kms on it make sure the chrome hasn't warn away.
The fairings are fairly easy to obtain through bike wreckers. Even if they are cracked they are very easy to plastic weld using plastic from a 2 litre milk bottle or ice cream container.

Care to enlighten me/us how the plastic welding id done using this method, is it a case of solering iron and melt the plastic in or is it more complicated than that?

Tape buy yourself one of those little pen flame burner thingys from Bunnings and a couple of cans of gas to refill.......
Get yourself some of the same material ie an old bit of knackered fairing, clean the area around the crack, make sure the panel is stable and in the correct position and heat the tip of the scrap plastic until it becomes molten and work it into the crack(work on the reverse of the panel), just keep building on this and your'l be good
I got some singing and dancing shit at work called mythacrilite, very similar to a araldite but 10 times better.Just slap a gob o this on the back and wait onite and she be good, even sticks ABS plastics together permanently
