What tyres are you likely to put on it next time out, and how much wear did the Powers show after the day? Also what slicks did you use to run on the 9, and how many days would you get out of them?

I really hope you can afford to get out to the track more often, I go through serious withdrawals between bouts.

The wear on the powers was very little, I use to tear through a set of slicks on the 9. The powers didn't tear or bubble up in the slightest, just light wear on the edges from accelaration. If I could choose I'd probly go for a pilot race or similar, they last longer than slicks and can be used on the road.. sort a.
I was talking to a guy out there who has 10 and he swears by the bridgestone 002's..
I prefered the Dunlop slicks, particularly the fronts as they had a higher profile which helped the 9 drop into corners. The rears were good too and so were the michelin rears. I'd get about 5 days out of a front and 2ish out of a rear.. It was better value to buy 2nd hand slicks, especially the dunlops, as they would work fine right to the end of the dot..

I did the track day with Dave as well. Although I wasn't quite doing the times Dave was  , I had a fantastic day. I was smiling all day long.

Dave, that would have been my mate Ian you were talking to about the Bridgestone 002s. I'm glad you had a chat with him because I must have been upstairs having lunch when he came and didn't get to see him.

I'm due for a new set of tyres soon and I have Ian telling me to get the Bridgestone 012s and another friend telling me to get Pilot Powers. Anyone like to help me out?

Hope to do another track day soon with more of you guys n girls.

Cheers,

I don't think it was an Ian, it was the guy who worked for Eastern Creek Ride days that booked us in. Shortish guy with dark hair, he didin't have his bike there..
