I know most of you have a problem with Americans in one way or another ...snip...

mate
I would say most of us here do not have a problem with the individual American citizen (someone like yourself) but I guess a few of us do have a problem with the 'American...God is on our side, we are the world's policeman for democracy' stance that your govt promotes.
Me? personally I do have an issue with that...and that is despite having an American son-in-law who is an ex-marine! (he's from MI)
The dinner table discussions about that are ummmmm.....vigorous

that aside, I see the issue with the Kawiforum as not yank bashing....
coz we would be having a go about their stoopid policies if they were English or Canadian or Russian. So don't feel you have to defend your fellow Americans

cheers

hmmmm thats not entirely the image most independant left wing media seem to paint of the place  but thats another matter..

i think its not so much an issue with americans, just more of an issue with kawiforums .... they are a commercial venture, whereas we are just a bunch of like minded kwaka riders

i personally dislike a lot of the big american forums, like gixxer.com, r1-forum, kawiforums etc etc.... not because its american, but in the same way that i cant stand listening to commercial radio ... full of adds :P some times people aint too friendly to one another either, but i guess that comes with size... the more chickens you have, the more bad eggs

tho at the same time, there is info on those forums that you just dont really find here... i find that americans like to modify their bikes more than we typically do, so if you wanna look up info about a 998cc big bore kit for a ZX9R, your basically gonna have to look on kawiforums... tho madkaw can tell you plenty

my brother lives in houston TX with his wife and he learnt pretty quickly not to get involved with heated political discussions at drinking establishments  but he loves it there... cept for the weather (even in winter its rarely below 25-30c and always seirously humid) and the hurricanes :? hes talking about moving to washington state in the not too distant future

To change the topic slightly, I notice Mr Gos's post count is already at Apprentice post whore stage.. A great effort for the short time he has been with us.. I think it works into about 8 posts everday since he joined...

Oh an I notice you didn't decline the offer....:-)

cheers mate, always happy to help  Like many others, this isn't the only forum I am a member of ( as you have seen  ), but is without a doubt the most friendly and abuse-free site out there ( although http://groups.msn.com/WorldwideZ1Z900Ownerscommunity is also a great place for the old-timer Z900 nut to visit - very abuse-free, oriented towards assistance with the old dungers in every respect......WOOPS did I just post a link to another site ? sorry mate, won't happen again.......  )

Their response seems a tad shrill, and the 'membership drive' comment is a bit of a stretch. I actually agree with the position of not pirating IP (I work in a software company, it'd be hypocritical of me to do otherwise) but I'd have to say that if you going to ban outright based on copyright infringement, you'd have to ban people using Kawasaki's copywritten publicity photos in their signatures, etc. etc.

Just out of interest Jonno, did a particular moderator or admin sign their name to that response?

What you see is what I got in my e-mail. Direct copy and paste.
Over the time I have visited there I realised Kawaiforums have been a tad anal in their approach to moderating. Thats just my perception.
