Race Replica

Hey, I'm in search of a new mechanic, and was wondering if any of you have any good, bad or ugly experiences with Race Replica in Brooklyn?

Already have Ratmick's lowdown - thanks!

Karen, you could try Sunshine Motorcycle Engineering in Sunshine (surprise huh) Simon 9312 4085, is a back yarder but cheap and knows his bikes VERY WELL.
A good mate will bail you out of jail, a true mate will be sitting in the cell next to you saying "Damn, we fucked up!!!"

Maybe so, but location is not convenient. Thanks anyways.

I was specifically after opinions about Race Replica :)

Kaz
They are new owners there for a while but if they use the same mech that left my brakes all loose and the calipers fell off when I got my bike repaired a couple of years ago I'd keep away.
I doubt he's still there . I havent been in the shop since the new owners took over more than a year ago

I took my bike down last week for a service and a few other things to be fixed up.

Picked it up in the afternoon and they forgot to do the service….apparently no one noted it down when I booked it in.

I wasn't too fussed, but it's a pain in the A** organising lifts too and from when you drop off your bike.

The guys were pretty helpful though, and I’m pretty happy with the work that they did do.

Seems as though things still haven't changed?
First visit Basic service couldn't fault
Second visit, Valve needles and seats (still same problems after pick up)
third visit, Forks seals. still leaked, refilled fork tubes with old grey water contaminated oil??? (no warranty as i fitted the forks back on the bike)
fourth visit, rectify fuel problems (still no improvement after pick again)
Bugger it i'll do it myself, take off tank and find no#4 carby top diaphram housing cracked at mount screw nothing had been touched (only me)
Mate takes his tire in for a puncture repair. rear tire not beaded in place correctly when he picked the bike up and wobbles all over the road when he road off (pisser to watch  ) takes the bike back and askes what the f#. Faulty tire, how did they do the balance???? This all happened about two years ago.
Great mechanics (for pushy's)
You've been warned!
I did however hear that the ex mechanic from western yammy now works for them and was apparently very good but i'm too shy to find out.
Good luck Kaz
