Who are "they" ?

I can't understand Kawiforums would do that kinda thing. They are US-based so definitely can't "compete" with us ...

Wed Jan 18, 2006 8:46 pm

Ok the answer lies in the home page of http://www.kawiforums.com ......

1. Banner advertising
2. " Advertising information"
3. " Link to us " means bring in more suckers to generate further click through revenue for us
4. "Our sponsors" The more sales generated through http://www.kawaiforums.com the higher they can charge for advertising exposure, or possibly creating a thread in respect to a certain supplier or product.
5. "Donate" WTF........ Capitalist pigs. If I buy an interest magazine then I am happy to pay for printing, editing, journalism, photographers, typesetting, coffemaking and a small margin of profit. However why would I like to donate money towards somebody hosting a forum that is contributed to by others whom receive no reward whatsoever?

Besides its an American site and so the content is only partly relevant to us.
Each to their own.

Personaly not interested.

N.B. links to http://www.kawiforums.com are intentional so that others can see why this forum is much beter without the popup ads and garish flashing banners.

Censorship is wrong

A member who posts in another forum has that right, if they leave for said forum it's a shame but not drastic. I see KSRC as a great social group, people I enjoy being friends with. Friends don't just walk away

Because operating forums, including this one, costs money. Without money to pay the operating costs, you wouldn't have a forum to talk on.

MadKaw wrote:I've noticed on Kawi forums that all posts containing the KSRC web addy have been edited to remove the link.... other links have not been edited.

Which raises the question of what is good interforum ettiqette.

Should ppl post links to other forums that cater to a similar subject.?
Should references to other forums be removed so as not to attract our members or promote "the competition".?
Or, there's enough ppl to go around and they will stay at the place they prefer so it should be open slather...

I know of some groups that have gained the majority of there members from KSRC by ppl selectively PMing them.....
Is it fair that others prosper and build there member base from KSRC's hard work or, as stated above, should it be open slather as it shouldnt effect our member base and the more Kwaka sites the better. ?

hmmm
as a member of a number of other sites...
general like Nutrider or MRA
or specific like the Zx12 site (just joined)
I am happy to promote the fact that I am a KSRC member
and support Kwaka sports bikes
and sportsbikes in general

If I was on a site where I knew that was happening
I would complain..to Mods or Admins
why...??
coz those doing this sorta stuff should realise
that the more the biking community supports itself
thru contact/communication/forums/web sites
the better!

We have enuff forces out there trying to corral our enjoyment
of bikes without 'infighting'
...specially those on Kwakas

I for one support interforum contact of Kwaka riders
and that can be seen by those who I have pm'd on other sites
(like Netrider) and are now here

I hope interforum censorship (which is what it is)
never happens here
I don't think it will..Dave is too sensible 8)

Doh! No wonder I wasn't poached

Don't worry there not poaching... but you still don't have the right bike to be poached anyway.... :-)

I believe it should all be out there, and then the wheat will be separated from the chaff, the cream will rise to the top, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear and a bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush...
I have no idea where I was going with that, I'm getting senile..

hey Dave

its ya age.......

its get worse....

ive checked out a few of the other forums but i found most of them are full of w@nkers.

Atleast here people dont usually use the forums to try humiliate people, argue or cause trouble.

the answers people here have given me have always been useful whereas some of the responses to ppls questions ive seen on other forums turn into slagfests.

I reckon if they are removing links to KSRC then its a badge of honor.

I wasnt poached.... well... Smitty PM'd me on another forum to let me know about this forum... but other than that no one has tried to poach me...

I am hurt and upset... I want to be poached goddamnit...

I am a member of nutrider too... but they talk shit on their forum... and there are a gazillion noobs on there who dont know anything about anything.... Its fun to wind them up...

(do a search for the word 260 and see me get roasted for speeding hahaha... I think it ended up being 13 pages of anti hoon stuff hahah...)

KSRC is my "real home"... real people, people I actually like...

Guilty as charged madkaw, but I will bring em all back in good condition ok, I promise :P um..er... infact they never left just opened another window to look at a zx12 forum (0.5 posts a day for the whole forum).
Anyway it is really a supplimental forum for 12R owners as KSRC won't/hasn't set up separate sections for the classes of bike and is run by an ex BBird rider, owned by a Busa rider. I would say less than half of the 62 members are from KSRC although I/we promote and link here quite often in fact it is part of my sig and a few have joined here as well through there. 8)

Poaching happens everywhere so don't worry, I am sure poaching has brought quite a lot from other forums, many here would be members of multiple forums and I also see nothing wrong with any of it. But to ban the link to here is pathetic and I cant understand why thy would do it other than more advertising dollars for more members?
Some of those other forums want subscription to keep their site running, so far you have done a great job and many would contribute to the costs if asked, yes free beer thread.

As already mentioned if they dont like our easy going way they are welcome to leave as much as they are welcome to stay, we have a very unique forum where we as mature adults (most of us are) can converse without much flaming at all and thats why I like it here.

We love you dave, it is going to be alright

Bugga got summing on my nose now
