I want Smitty to buy a 10
why ..........ummmmm......... why not
and they dont come in blue

but i'm guessing a 12 or a 9
swaying towards a 9

And Smitty you said you rode a 10R
What you think ............ ?

Wed Jan 11, 2006 7:21 pm

Hmmm I am thinking a 9R, who knows except him. I know from memory he likes the 12 so its a tossup on those two IMO. I also do not think he has made his mind up yet but I am just saying that to get him to say it..hehe

Still it could be a ZRX, z9, z1,z1300 6cyl  ZZR1200 or ZZR100 for all we know 8)

no Lucas..they don't come in red and white either

ummm...
the 10R...???

manic mate but
i actually liked it....
NOT easy to ride in suburbia
(a fraction of throttle and the officer frowned...
120 in an 80 zone  ..NO I did not get caught
..but easily could have)
the seating position more comfy than i thought
I was expecting a 'lose ya nuts on the tank
when ya wrists collapse' type set up
but still too 'forward' for me
(personal opinion that, maybe different if u are 6'2")

VERY throttle sensitive but
nice and easy to tip in (not lots of weight up top)
was surprised how good the suspension was (even if hard)
brakes...? one finger stoppies..FANTASTIC

my ½ hr - 40 min test ride round suburbia was limited
but
for those who want the ultimate 'sportsbike'
I can see where the bike mag test riders are coming from
...great engine, very good suspension (a bit hard for me but still good)
not a lot of protection from the screen (I like to sit up a bit)
very good paint and detail
I like the side zorst ( i think I rode the last of those with the side zorst)
coz I am not a fan of underseat zorst...aesthetics are blah imho

for those who only do track days or ride Reefton only
...heaven mate
pillion or touring??? nup
a ride from Melbourne to Ballaarat up the western Fwy
would drive me berzerk or have me lose my licence

the guys here who ride 'em....! have no argument with
(without riding an R1 or gixxer1000)
.... it has to be the best sportsbike on the planet
and
I say that having ridden a 916 and 998 Duc too....

hth

cheers

Billy add a 9R to the list and I will vote. 8)

What does the lovely reckon Ian?

i rode a 998 and wondered what all the fuss was about. personally i thought it was shit.

saying that i've ridden my mates rsv and i like it - alot (hurts saying that - its a vfarkintwin afterall)

Yes Smitty throttle is touchy but get use to that
and not very suburb friendly

but what new larger sportsbike really is
or dont you have to keep in 2nd or maybe 3rd to be at 60k

but have to agree that its hard to not speed

I have to agree with Phil..I wonder at some ppls comments on the 916 on
family of Ducs.. ..they are really not worth the $..or the effort
