Awsome, How good do these bike get??
Sorry for the
slow response AJ, but I've working and then the site crashed.
10mm rise at rear has had a dramatic effect on handling of my 7. It now turns in very easily and you need to nail it really hard exiting corners to get head shake.
So far I've dropped the front by 8mm, replaced the origional 5wt fork oil with 7.5wt and increased its level by about 10mm (i think by memory, but would need to check) and finally jacked the arse up by 10mm.
The only down side is that it doesn't hold it's line quite as well on real bumpy corners.
Mario and I had a fair scrap on Friday and I noticed a few things:
-Mario can ride really fast when provoked.
-I did loose ground to his 6r in the bumpy corners
-but it was bloody quick through turns with a good surface
- and turned in like a demon in any situation.
- It wiil also now change line mid corner if you need to. (lucky for me

)
-The front seems to be more compliant on slow bumps like speed humps and driveways etc.. Due to steep fork angle created by higher rear I figure.
What really surprised me was the fact that I was on slicks (errr tread free

) and the road was still damp in spots and I think that was about as quick(well as fast as I'll ever admit to

) as I've ever been up Reefton spur(arguably one of the very best biking roads in Oz) . Although the road was slippery, the feed back and control the adjusted shocks gave was fantastic and enabled me to push on pretty hard. Finally got some dry(ish) roads, and holy crap Batman.....
The new ram air mod is pretty cool too. The indruction growl has gone up a tad

I also removed the s/steel mesh from the element and just left the foam in the plastic frame. I cheched it out carefully and it all seems to be secure enough. There may be a very slight drop in torgue under 5grand or about 60km/h. This was extremely slight and I would even need a few more comutting rides to really confirm this.
But from 8500rpm, look out. From 160km/h at 9000+ this thing really goes. Even more than origional.
I'll add this mod with details and pics to my "Matty's 7r" thread. Just need to get a hold of a camera again.
It is far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even if chequered with failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, as they live in grey twilight that knows no victory nor defeat.
