Neka, be real careful. Today was my first day back on the road after a 6 month rest period. Was down at Vicroads @ 8:30 this morning. I dont ever want to go through that again. Even though I know it is school holiday time I still did 40 kmh through the school zones. The carns will never take away my freedom again.

I got a ticket 2 weeks before i got my bike. So far I have managed to avoid the revenue raisers while on my bike. I think I have 8 points left. Maybe 9?

you dont!!!
if u get done on ur bike, and lose 4 points, u will lose ur car licence too....
if u get a 3 point offence ( and think ur safe) they will give u a "breach of provisional conditions" fine of abt $70 and an extra point..and there goes ur licence...either way, dont get caught on ur bike...
dont believe me??....wanna see my driving history?? 99 i had 3 months to go on my bike P's and copped a 3 point offence...plus the extra 1 point...ended up 3 months without a licence...of any sort!!

neka,
In NSW, if you have a full license and a MB L's or P'S and you lose four points on your MB, you will lose you MB but not your car.
i know i know, the term is RL or R

JJ - are you sure about that? I thought you have a single license with (x) points, despite the # of classes on that license?

thats exactly how it works here in ACT, it doesn't matter if you get your points in a car, on a bike, whatever, you can only accrue a maximum of 12, and once you have, then goodbye licence.
I have honestly lost count of the number of times I have lost my licence for the short '3-month' slap on the wrist period. I know I have lost it for 12 months once, and once it was ' at the Discretion of the Court' - that one lasted for just on 2 years
Just to clear up any misconceptions, every licence starts on '0' points, and you actually 'accrue' points, you don't start on 12 and 'lose' them......I have seen points accrued for offences up 18
