I'll quote Smitty
there are 3 rules on our KSRC rides
1. -the maddies bugger off and then wait for the rest to catch up
2. -others? go at your own pace (TEC will be behind you)
and
3 -NEVER EVER EVER pass anyone on a corner
Not too hard I reckon, rule #4 came about because an outsider broke rule #3 and nearly killed himself and nearly took Rob (I love you mate) with him.

they sound like good rules.
Maybe we should just look at a 'Newbie' ride every now and then, have a couple of maintenance days every quarter, and continue to post up normal rides for everyone who wants to go - forget about *grading* rides, and everyone will be happy ??

Hey just cause you sleep with a clown Tape
Love ya T
But not all clowns are good
what was the movie with the clown that killed everyone
and my opinion is some rides might be to tough for newbies but depends on who else is on the ride
And if are told to go a their own pace .... which doesnt always work

Well I voted Noob rides only advertised, and that was due to wanting to promote rides that from the outset are more orientated to the less experienced riders needs etc. So you can have rides that are at a more relaxed pace and more frequent catch up stops etc.
That way they don't feel as though they are holding the group up, as regardless you regularly see less experienced riders riding on the edge of their abilities, not necessarily deliberately, so they don't 'hold the others up so much etc'.
well that is my 2c worth. That said, I do fully support riders of all levels and tastes of speed to get together and enjoy the same ride regardless of what ppl's intentions are. ie uber quick, cruisey etc. The quicker riders just need to maintain there patience in waiting for the others to catch up, and do it regularly to ensure they are part of the ride, and not just wandering in the the lunch stop as the others are finishing up etc!

I definately think it should be open to every one. If its posted then u cannot eliminate certain level or levels of riders.
I'm sure small rides between much closer members are organised in between vic rides.
I did my first ride with the group and was crawling down GOR while trying to avoid big drops of rain. The whole time someone was behind me and like boobie said, if ur a newbie, other forum memebers will come up and chat and see how ur doing.
I think members in vic know the rules by now and we do have a great group down hear.

I went for the newbies option. if you're not a newbie then you should be able to choose your own pace anyways just by common sense that you have gained living thus far into your riding experience.

Have we all lost the plot here or what?
We ain't no affiliated ride day organisers............we are a bunch of Kawasaki riders that have access to the internet as a contact point for catching up with your mates
Next thing is someone will want us to start carrying membership cards

What Mr Gosling said makes sense to me.
Never got a chance to reply to the other thread before it was locked.
Go away for a couple of days and miss all the fun!

A group ride with many riders of varied level os skills can be a very dangerous thing, if you are going to go on such a ride, group everyone into 3 categories, fast, intermediate and n00b. Each group should leave the meeting points a couple minutes from each other as well, and if you find yourself being caught by other riders, or catching up to riders then you need to change your position.
