What to wear, what to wear??

Err no I haven't gone female and thinking I need a new dress to go with a new hairstyle or anything... not that women do that of course...

33 here in Smelbourne, 37 tomorrow, do I squid it?

Normal riding apparel is gloves, Dririder, bog standard jeans, boots and a lid, none of which is overly comfortable in this kind of weather.

Sweat like a pig when u ride, or squeal like one when u crash.


Some smart ass invented the mesh/airflow jacket, u might wanna consider that.

I have a mesh jacket for super hot days......

In a crash its not going to be as good as a proper jacket, but it has all the CE padding to save some hurties...

Its way cooler than a leotard...

Thanks for the replies, $150 isn't too bad at all for motorbike gear. Normally pay that just for CE rated jocks...

Stereo, thought about the leotard but just doesn't fit anymore, like my beer to much.

After seeing Pugs313 arm on Monday (and he was wearing his gear) it is not worth not wearing your gear, I know its tempting temps here have been very hot (read understatement) but the consequences are not worth a little discomfort.

With the summer jackets be careful, some of them i'd only advise for scooter riders..

Look for ones like the joe rocket pheonix(males equivalent to cleo), alter ego, or rjays supervent 2

they all have ce armour, the rjays one has kevlar patches on the sleeves etc..

I know there are more brands, i'm just using them as an example

I've got a DriRider, simillar to Stereo's but a bit older ... it survived a crash pretty well, with only a slight bit roughed up on the shoulder, and more importantly all my skin where it started out.

The mesh jacket and a pair of vented gloves, draggin jeans and oxtar boots are my standard gear for summer.

Don't wear cordura rain proof riding pants on the 40 degree day like I did a couple weeks ago, its not fun

I normally wear draggins, when hitting the twisty stiff I have knee and hip armour that goes in them.

Thats probably pretty true, I've got a lookwell jacket which is quite a wide (ie. big holes) mesh all over with padding in the shoulders and elbows, its great for commuting, lets heaps of air through but I'd hate to have a spill at anything above 60 in it (actually, I'd hate to have a spill at all )

Pull the liner out of the dririder or get a summer jacket that has a removable liner.

I haver a rjays one for summer and winter and it dryish when it rains and warmish in winter and okay if you leave it sort of half zipped in summer.


ohh and i learned on the way down to the gp if it gets under 8 degrees wear thermals and its still okay.

the local leathers guy calls them pie bags.
