Tue Dec 20, 2005 3:25 pm

Ok... now... im not from Aus, moved here only 2 years ago... never heard the term "Squid" applied to a rider before...

what does it mean?

Squid --- rhymes with kid....

Also what many of em end up looking like when they finally find out they aren't as talented as they think

someone who wears a helmet but little other protective gear.
i.e. hard top and soft (unprotected tentacles)
squids are often heard saying "i'm just goin down the road" or "i don't intend on falling off" or "i havent fallen off yet"

or "look at my biceps"

or "ow ow ow ow ow that black stuff really hurts!!"

i dunno, as long as your not riding like a wanker, i dont mind what you wear. might have a giggle to myself, but squid bashing is an activity i rarely partake in....

Stupidly Quick Underdressed Imminently Dead

as told to me by stu anyway

Tue Dec 20, 2005 7:02 pm

SQUirrelly kID
Super Quick Until I Die
Just like its namesake, quick in a straight line but fumbles in the corners

Stuff like that. Usually used to describe undergeared persons who greatly overvalue their own (often small) talent, but can also be used to describe one dresses in racing kit and brags about his/her speed (again with the evidenced lack of talent).

Ends up soft as a squid from a stack coz everything is mashed... Stupidly Quick Underestimating Insane Dickwad.. bit like R1 riders over Nebo/Glorious, glory riders...

I was told that a squid is someone that rides with a point and shoot style. ie races on the straight then on the brakes to take the corner really slow.

If you have ever seen a squid underwater you will get it.

I thought the original squid was a mountain and valley carver in the us and some of the better ones eventually made it to the track if they lived that long.

over here it is the average hooligan with a sports bike that hasnt saved enough money to buy more than the bike and the helmet and when they hit the bitumen they peel like a squid  .

some of them are particularly fast but think the racetrack is dangerous and dont wear any saftey gear.

the bitumen is just like using a cheese grater on them really.

stupidly quick underdressed idiot dickhead is the one i was learned many moons back...
basicly ...me....
it means a wanker...i dont care wot they wear (ive been known to underdress) as long as they dont whinge to me if they hurt emselves...

So quick i'm deadly.

I just shake me head & think of the Screams from outpatients when they take to the gravel rash with a scrubbing brush. It makes me feel so much better about sweating my bum off at lights in proper scoot kit.
Cheers Brett

man - that conjures up so many images! shiver...
I was given a hard time at 1/2 Way House last week: "You must be hot in that" this guy says, as he swaggers to his VFR dressed in shorts and a t-shirt!
Yeah - I was hot, but they ain't gonna get no scrubbing brush onto me!
Ouch... ouch... ouch...

PS. the rider was dressed in the shorts and t-shirt, not the bike.

The sad thing is, a squid doesn't even know they're a squid.
