I suggest a 9 or 12 bloke although my bias opinion would be a 12R, it is dependant on what YOUR pillion feels best on and how often you have a passenger. I have heard many opinions from passengers on both and its 50/50 some get sore others it's fine. The 12R would be what you have always dreamed of as I remember you saying it many times and you allready have the service manual  the 03 model was onwards is what I recommend and the 04-06 are the same except minor paint work.
My 12 has been used as a mule many times carrying 2 Ventura bags and 2 people with a combined weight of +200kg. Hardly noticeable with a pillion for manoeuvring and acceleration as far as having a passenger is involved, but that’s just me. 8)
The only issue I have with extra weight is the castellated nut on the rear shock, it is a PITA to adjust.
The 9 would be a better track bike and both would be comfortable for the rider, I have back, neck, hip and leg problems and I have little trouble with mine.I have to refuel every 250km's anyway so smoko breaks are common.

However and I am not trying to offend you but I will anyway you are of the shorter variety of rider yes? maybe a late model 9R is the go, bigger weightier guys prefer the 12 for obvious reasons and I have seen some smallish people riding 12's and busa's in my time. Is fuel injection something you would like, awesome power, and speed then 10R or 12R. 8)

After all that dribble my un-biased opinion is the 9R is what you need, the 12R is something you inside will want.

Just take ya missus and test ride mate.

how come you'd prefer the E yoda ?

colours perhaps ? :?

i'd say the "F" would be the best bet....final evolution & all that.......

a 9 would be cheaper to own & run than a 12

Phil

I have been doing a bit of homework
the E series 9 is a bit more pillion friendly than F
them grab rails are great and the rear suspension
is a tad softer (according to my local dealer )
and
the colours? no real preference... C or E or F

and
yes mate i agree
the 9 will be cheaper than a 12 to own and run

have a quote for insurance on the 9 (pretty ok in my book)
waiting for a call back on the 12 (they reckon they can deal )

and the 9 is a bit much chuckable..on the road or track
but the 12 has a bit more stomp (but is heavier)

btw
i am reading as many reviews as I can on the above bikes
plus
of course I value people's opinions

cheers

Smitty I reckon you left the perfect bike off your list.......

ZZR1200. Those 900's are pretty good, but you can't beat cubic centimeters  See if you can get a blast on Ronster's rig

Far less tiring on the wrists/back than a 12R, plenty comfy 2-up, the 12R is *OK*, but it is a cramped pillion possie for any long-distance stuff.

Just my 2c worth.........

there ya go Yoda, I really think it would be ideal for you to at least have a spin - and I am sure there are enough punters down your way for a *sample* of 1 or 2 9R's, (just for comparitive purposes of course )

My memory of the ZZR is big, fast, comfortable, maybe not an *ideal* track weapon in the mold of a ZX7R, but heh, any time on a the track is going to be fun anyway :P . More important, it will fit the bill for 99% of your riding, imho.....

Good luck mate, I am sure you will find exactly what you need.
