At 6:50 a.m. this morning I was sound asleep in bed, when all of a sudden "BANG". Suddenly, I open my eyes, just laying there, listening. I don't hear anything else and figure I must have been dreaming. So, I roll over with plans to go back to sleep only to see that my wife is also awake.

"What was that?" she asks.
"Dunno. I thought I must have dreamt it" I said.

Eliminating the dream factor I jump out of bed and climb into a pair of trackie pants. I check around the house to make sure someone hasn't climbed into a window or that some electrical piece of equipment hasn't blown up. All good. I check the garage to make sure all my bikes are still in one piece. All good.

I then head out into the front yard figuring that some little prick had thrown something onto my roof, or that maybe the car across the road had backfired. Nothing. I walk onto the road and look up and down the street only to find that there isn't a soul in sight.

I start walking back towards the house, step onto the verandah and find myself on my knees with tears rolling down my face. I manage to crawl back inside, laughing so much my sides hurt.

"What the hell are you doing?" Sally asks.

I tell her. She doesn't find it as funny as I do.

Knowing that no-one will believe my story and that "pics or it didn't happen", I get my camera and take a photo of the source of the noise.

And for those that still have no idea what it is...

It's the outline of a bird (feathers and all) after it smacked into the front bedroom window at what must have been close to the speed of light.

Lol, You`ll probably find it was an owl Jas, Same thing happen to me but it hit my car window. But he hit it hard and knocked him self out, so took him to my local wildlife australia expert. Thankfully it lived to see another day. Apparently they have a powder on their feathers, kinda like a moth does.
Cheers Sean

Jase

very unusual
but
you should be so lucky you don't live with possums
..hundreds of the pharkers
...who all wear hob nail boots and dance on ya roof
half of the night

if it wasn't illegal in Vic to aaaah....remove them
there would no possums around here

That looks like a big hit

We had two crested pidgeons hit two seperate windows at the same time on the weekend and die instantly...turns out they were being chased by a hawk that then preceded to grab one of the bodies and eat most of it in our front yard...very cool 8)

... or bush turkeys, who walk around on your roof and decks at human-pace, sounding like someone walking around with high-heels :D

That bird is hilarious though ;)

hahah thats funny Jase....

we had a little sparrow fly into our showroom one day just b4 xmas, it was quiet so we were chasing it trying to catch it or "heard " it outsite..after abt 15min, and 5 staff memebers chasing it , it managed to get out the door.

2 days later it happens again, a sparrow flies in the big open doors...so 2 of us start chasing it, it gets up a bit of speed (big showroom) and "bang" str8 into the window in front of us....after pissing myself, i picked it up & took it outside to "recover" as i thought it had just knocked itself out....it hadnt, and i think its still sitting there...
