If someone has a 600cc > 1100cc engine....

I have an empty garage... and I am willing to provide steel and welding equipment.... and knowledge of computer aided design....

I bloody want one!!!

and I am willing to share driving priveledges... and I am willing to put in hours and hours to get one running....

Stereo i recon you buy a rolling kart chasis and just bolt the gixer engine into that, there may be a small amount of fabrication like engine mounts but that would be about it.

Keep in mind that the old international class 250 2 stroke karts where about the fastest thing on the track around 10 years ago so i would imagine that one with a zx10 moter would be shit scarey and rather expencive on tyres.

Dont have an engine..............

My main problem would be the fact that I know nothing about engine electrics.... and also the gearing would be a problem.... the gearbox on a motorcycle is directly beneath the motor...

the dedicated go-kart engines have the gearbox sticking right out the side... so you can just bolt them into any frame.... but it would be much harder with a motorcycle engine....

In any case... a decent go-kart frame is bloody expensive.... I think you could manufacture one much cheaper.... and considering you have a giant engine you dont have to worry about lightweight materials... which means you have a stronger chassis and less flex.....

that said... I am moving to point cook within a fortnight and there is a go-kart shop within a few k's..... might drop in and see whats the happs...

Shit Scary alright :lol: I couldn't imagine keeping the wheels from spinning out with the power to weight ratio they would have.

Would that be a fixed drive shaft or have a limited slip diff. With 165ps it would sure spin through corners without it, but would snap chains with it. I say grab a vmax motor, nice & torquey V4, shaft drive and still plenty of ponies. Limited slip diff could be done, and it will handle loads better.
