Coles insurance

Postby Jonnymac » Sat Jun 14, 2014 7:47 pm

So I'm hoping with the amount of people on here we may have a number of you that have got useful info for me.

I'm attempting to drop all my yearly costs ie insurances, gas, electrical etc etc.

We've just had a quote from coles insurance for both car and house and the prices were considerably less than what we are currently paying through RACV.

Now I'm happy with them and through past experience they have always paid promptly no problems. I would like to stay with them if they were more competitive, but money talks so if I can cut all my costs for the year by a couple of K then that's a lot more track days I can do lol.....

So anyone have any info for me please....?

Changed from Real to Coles for Home and Contents a couple of months back, it was a lot cheaper after a big increase from Real.
Have the cars with Budget Direct as they were cheaper than Coles - and would beat prices..

Have never made a claim on either though so can't comment on that.

You will find that the same company has different rates for different states and then each state has different rates for the suburbs you live in depending on the claims history and profile of your area.

The rider will then be assessed according to age, accident history and demerit points. The bike will be assessed depending on what modifications or accessories you have. If it's under finance, then you can add another loading.

You will find that one insurance company has two or three different insurance companies under its umbrella and they all offer different levels and types of cover with different definitions as to what does and does not qualify as a claim.

They don't ask too many questions when taking your money, but they go through you like Laxettes when making a claim and more so the cheaper ones

Definitely pay for what you get. I used a cheaper insurance company when I once had to claim. Whilst they paid out as the claim was over "the limit" the operator could authorise I had to wait for approval or I could accept a considerably lesser payout and keep the written off bike, which wasn't worth it by a lot

Look beyond what you are being charged, what is value to you? If you can put up with the hoops if you have to make a claim you will find that they are backed by a multinational. Just are you prepared to go through the hoops
