hey guys,
I had never heard of this before and have probable broke this many of times

today i was in guildford doing some safety training, parked my car off the main drag in one of the side streets. Came back to car and i have a parking fine waiting for me.
Parking withing 10 meters of intersection $232 thank you very much!!!!!!

I am just wondering if the 10 meters is from the closest point of the vehicle to the intersection or front? may be a stupid quieston but 10 meters is a long way and I have seen and parked within this many of times???????

I totally understand i shouldnt have parked there cause I am very lucky guildford didnt implode and $232 of my money will help this situation

Also shouldnt there be a no stopping sign for idiots like me?

There is a rule like that but rarely enforced..........I can see the reasoning though, parking too close might make turning into and out of intersections harder. I have no clue on how far you have to be from the intersection........

Ive never been fined like that and no one I know have had that fine.....maybe framing it and blaming it on a very peeved off or bored parking inspector would make a good BBQ story..........

Yeh 10 meters is a long way. If it was a $79 one I'd pay shut up and keep going but $232 is a lot of money to donate to holoryd council.

In NSW at least its 10 metres for an intersection or 20 metres from an intersection with a set of lights unless otherwise signposted. BS money grabbing and guilty of it myself. I can only conclude it may be causing someone an issue and they have complained to council who are money hungry. Bastards

The guy running the course asked where we parked cause try have recently put in 1hr parking on the main drag and been out n about booking people and that's why I parked on a side street (no time parking)

Funny thing is I was probably even closer then 10m yesterday on the same street just other side of road but didn't get a ticket.

So the rule stands unless there's a sign saying you can park closer? I'm lucky I haven't been caught before haha.

In queensland it is 10 metres from intersection- when I first became a driving instructor the intersection was defined by the property line (fenceline- worse for you) but now it is defined by the kerbs. Were you 10m from the kerbs?

Guildford....people parking too close to intersections is the least of its problems..

hey, it was guilford, not bankstown, auburn or liverpool; wasnt it?
