A van, 2 opthamologists and 2 pushbikes...

Got back from a ride today and was grabbed as soon as I stopped for a mercy mission...

Two guys on bikes ride from Sydney to Melbourne had suffered the heat from Yass, where they stayed last night, and were offering $200  for anyone to take them to Albury where they had a motel booked for tonight as they could go no further.

No probs I'll go home and get the van... 8)

Was thinking about being a good samaritan, and discounting the price a bit, but as we approached Albury they started discussing what they did and my thoughts about discounts quickly evaporated when they started talking about their 'jobs' as Opthamologists.

So I took the money and disappeared in a cloud of tyre smoke....well diesel smoke anyway..

What a bunch of WANKERS!! Last year I rode around the whole country for three months and my kevlar-clad ass didn't ask for a feckin' lift through the scorching, 40+ degree top end!

They should trade in their bikes for an air-conditioned Hyundai i-30 or whatever it is... the one with a special compartment for tampons...

That is a 550km round trip. I'd charge a shitload more than that for 6 hours in the car!

Obviously they didn't "see too clearly" what was ahead of them ;)
Did you tell them to go back to Uni, and get qualified as Cardiologists :o at least then they might of had the ticker to complete the ride

Nah mate I was just happy to lighten their wallets a bit...besides nothing much on TV so why not. 8)

Oh and the girly at the servo also chimed in that they had slung her a big tip for organising so I didn't even have to pay her a spotters fee... :kuda:

If I rode a pushbike around Aus I'd be a lot thinner let me tell you, lol.

It was a Hyodung (yes, dung) GV650.

Once you go Korean you'll NEVER GO KOREAN AGAIN.

 Japanese Kawasakis

I was at Yass 8pm that same night..............was going to Canberra and for some reason passed the turnoff and just kept on going lol. Went through Yass and up back to Canberra.

Laidback is a very good name for ya, damn thats a long round trip, good karma is sure to get to ya.................not many people would do that, especially for a non broken bike.
