Unfortunately this time it was. If that "no try" was disallowed as it should have been, the result would have been completely different. But don't let that fact get in the way of your celebration. Obviously the result is far more important to you than whether your team earned it or not. Personally, I would much rather see a great contest where the best side on the night earns their win. To be honest, I would be disappointed if I was a Queensland supporter that they won this series in that fashion.

When even King Wally Lewis says it wasn't a try then you know there is something wrong with the dickheads that call themselves referees

He said "back in his day" it would have been a shepherd...

He also said "back in his day, the ball touching the post would have been a try" - referring to when inglis ran into the post.

The rule is for "obstruction", Farah was never obstructed but just stop dead where he was arms out as always

Hey Nelso, on what basis are you calling it a no-try?

Bit harsh on Robbie. What about Carney standing in the QLD back line. Can't make too many tackles there. His defence led to Hodges try.
Blaming Farah when he was probably the best player for the entire series. NOt only did he have a great series as hooker but due to Mitchel Pearce Farah had a handy game at half back as well. He was directly resposible for two of the three NSW tries last night.
Remember, half the people you know are below average.

Yep he did play a hand in 2 tries, and he did step up his game when Carney & Pearce went into their shells, but there's no denying that NSW didn't capitalise on some key possession because of bad decisions made by Farah.
1) He stopped chasing Hodges so he can have a whinge to the refs, everyone knows you play the whistle.
2) With minutes to go he ran to the side line and knocked the ball. NSW could have evened the score right there or even won the game.
3) Made some terrible 5th tackle decisions by kicking the ball (with no real distance) out from dummy half.

Hey Nelso, on what basis are you calling it a no-try?

For the past 5 or 6 seasons there has been a blanket rule that any player running behind a team-mate will be called an obstruction to avoid the confusion and inconsistency that was happening in the NRL prior to this rule being cleared up. The commentators all new it was an obstruction and even Mal Meninga new it was going to be disallowed when they showed the replay, but for some reason the video referee ignored the rule about running behind your own player and awarded the try.

The most one eyed Queensland supporters are Wally Lewis and Fatty Vautin and both of them made comments about how it should never have been a try. Honestly, if NSW had been awarded a try like that I would be just as disgusted as it was an appalling decision.

can you imagine how loud the Canetoads would be squealing, if NSW had won the series on the back of a decision like this ?

It looked like a pretty cut'n'dried shepherd to most people watching the game. Wonder how this rule will be interpreted next time it happens.....

I am just going to be happy to see NSW turn up again next year and help Qld make it 8 in a row. Hell, a couple more years of good work should see the Canetoads make it 10 years in a row !
