Wake Up the City to MotoGP in Federation Square

The 2009 Iveco Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix will be announced to the people of Melbourne in a pre-event preview with the sound of massed motorcycles riding through the streets of the CBD finishing at Federation Square.

The Federation Square precinct will come alive with a massed bike display, sponsor forecourt displays & stage activity to promote the Oct 16-18 event at Phillip Island.

When: Tuesday October 13

Time: 12noon to 2 pm

Where: Federation Square, Swanson St forecourt, Flinders St frontage & river terrace.

What to expect

Around 500 motorcycles lead by 5-time World Champion Mick Doohan, will be escorted to Federation Square by Victoria Police. The motorcycles will arrive en-mass from St. Kilda Road and be guided by Motorcycling Australia marshals to predetermined parking areas in the Swanson St forecourt, Flinders St frontage & river terrace.

I'll be there already lagged myself in for this gig, the "run" all 500 metres of it starts at Fed Sqaure car park :)
