this is a big one in the ACT.

Form 1 lane merges, great idea, but in the act, its considered a race. I had a tow truck nearly wipe me out because he wanted to be in front of me. I ask you, at what point is a loaded tow truck ever going to be inconvenienced by being stuck behind a motorbike?

Right lane sitters are the bane of my commuting existance, heading up the parkway each morning, you can garuntee that you will get stuck behind some prick sitting in the right lane doing 80 in a 100 zone, and sitting right along side someone doing 80 in the left lane. If you split past them, they chase you beeping their horn and flashing their high beams, if you sit behind them, they slow down, wtf are you meant to do?

I am a child of the late 80s, and i speak fluent imperial, i have to because of the industry i chose in college, when a stage is measured in feet across and deep, its easier to remember 34ft than 10.3632metres, just like lights are usually hung at arround 10ft because that makes a ~4ft throw to the average actors head(if directly above). on top of that, most set builders are old enough to refuse to accept metric as a measurement standard, and they provide all measurements in feet and inches

I've got to vent this somewhere.

A colleague who talks to him/herself (not family) ;)

This is annoying enough in itself, but I've learnt to deal with is by ignoring it and focusing on other things.

The MAJOR annoyance begins when he/she says "Sorry.......... I'm talking to myself"

to which .................. I HAVE to respond !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Yep, I know"

because I can't ignore it and say nothing - rude..............

I KNOW YOU'RE TALKING TO YOURSELF!

WHY DO YOU NEED TO TELL ME, YOU'VE BEEN DOING IT AS LONG AS I'VE KNOWN YOU, YEARS!

NOW I'VE BEEN FORCED TO BECOME PART OF A ONE PERSON DISCUSSION,
ABOUT A ONE PERSON DISCUSSION,
ABOUT SOMETHING WHICH ONLY CONCERNS ONE PERSON,
WHO HAS NO REASON TO DISCUSS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS DISCUSSION WITH ANYONE ELSE!

IS THERE ANY MORE USELESS DISCUSSION IN EXISTENCE?!?!?!?!?!?!

He tells the same story 2000 different ways in that 7 hrs and then has the gall to say "have you done such and such" yet?
Meanwhile the entire time he is yakking all I can think of is how much I would
like to smack his fucken face in with a brick

My rant is about cars.

Please look at your dash.. if you can't see your speedo, turn your lights on, it's dark.
If you're lights are on, and the little blue light is on, turn your high beam off, the car in front will thank you.
Tailgators are simply wankers.
If you're next to a large vehicle, ie truck, stay in your own #@*# lane, the truck needs all of theirs, especially going around bends.
Trucks don't stop as quick as cars, so please don't slam your brakes on in front of one, or cut across the front to turn into a driveway.

STUPID should be a traffic offence (100 points)...

I do some part-time work as a traffic controller. The other day I was working on the Hume with a closed lane and had a car already stopped when a b double (VISY) nearly ran me and the car over. I jumped out of the way and the car took off and the truck pulled up in a cloud of tyre smoke past where the car had been stopped.

Posted speed limit 60 - truck still doing about 100kph 100metres from where I stood with a stop bat. Said he was watching the workers and didn't see me. He also obviously also didn't see "Roadwork Ahead", "60 Ahead", 3 "60", 'diggerman' sign, "Prepare To Stop" then me and the stopped car.

and maintain a speed!

been using the f3 to newcastle and back a bit lately...
i set cruise to 3km over the limit. in the 110 zone.
3km over the limit in the 80 zone.
3km over the limit in the 100 zone.

you get my drift...

in the 110 zones im the fastest bloke on the road (almost)
in the 80 im looked at like im some weirdo tosser as everyone blaste past me.

then back into the 110, they are hogging the right lane sitting on 100. then look at me like said tosser agin as i "cruise" up the left lane.

then theres the ones that as you pass them realise they are going slow and speed up. facktards.

then they box you in behind slow cars and drive next to them...

i fuckin hate freeways!

all these new cars these days 90% of which come with cruise control, use the fucking thing!

Agree entirely Wattie!!! Pisses me off no end, I think that's a rant that gets passed from father to son :)

To that I'd add the people who see you ahead of them (sitting on say 105km/h), want to overtake, overtake quickly, then move to the left.

Then, when they see open road in front of them they freak out, slow down and you end up passing them again, still sitting on the cruise control.
