OLYMPICS,

Postby kaneg » Sat Aug 23, 2008 4:52 pm

Well, it's almost over and we have enjoyed lot's of stuff over the last couple of weeks.

Congrats to all the athletes who have dedicated their lives to represent their countries in the global contest.

Yesterday, on triple J the topic has popped up , as to which event(s) did you find the most boring ?

I, myself have a massive "problem" with the basic concept of walking  .....

Always a leading contender for this catergory :) I can't say the Tae Kwkndo or Judo was that enthralling to watch either really.

I gotta agree with kaneg here.

I still think the walking race was accidently realised by the anglo saxons when they first discovered curry.

And there was only ONE thunder box a mile down the road

And on the seventh day Richo ended his work which he had made. Decided resting was for soft cox, straddled the REX and headed up the old road.
And it was good

How can you consider the BMX boring? It is like watching sprint or hurdles but with crashes and tactical moves that can win or lose a race. Exciting to watch, for more technical than many other olympic sports to master - not that I'm bias or anything

Synchronised gets my vote for the worst category....

I agree... walking takes the cake. Let's get from one point to another, as fast as possible without assistance (ie: running) and then see if we can do it slower???? Get real. Anyone involved in this "sport" should be embarrased.

Other sports that I don't think should be part of the Olympics, although not necessarily boring, include:
All equestrian events. What the hell is up with this??? Next we'll have greyhound racing, or sled pulls!
Tennis. What next... golf?
Basketball. Although, I'm still partially undecided about this.

Walking - and in particular, why do they have a 20k and a 50k? Did they just forget to stop after 20?
