Help name my dog?

Postby matt76 » Wed Jun 11, 2008 8:32 pm

We are going to get a little staffy pup very soon but are stuck for a name for it.

The one we have our heart set on is a black and white female.

Any ideas? Weird and wonderful is ok

Cheers

Re: Help name my dog?

Postby Strika » Thu Jun 12, 2008 10:54 am

I've had a few dogs over the years, the last three however were named before we got them, Phoebe, Strika and Soli. The ones prior to them were all named once we got them. We tended to let there personality decide a name. As an example, my last black Cocker spaniel, as a pup, he was a burly fat thing. He thought he was sooooo tuff!!! He would growl and carry on like a big dog. So we called him Samson! It was shortened to Sam as he got older.

The dog previous to that was called Sandy. Both because of his colour and we were building a house at the time and he loved rolling around in the sand used to make the concrete.

So a good idea is to get your little friend home and check his/her quirks and personality traits before you name him/her! ;)

Yeah I understand your points Strika, I was hoping to have a short list when we went to pick our new mate up and see from there. We had the same trouble with our kids, we had names picked out and then changed them once they were born.
