*WARNING* MSN Live Messenger Virus

Postby GPXRAH » Mon Oct 29, 2007 4:06 pm

We have just received a virus from Live messenger :x . I received a file from one of my contacts which said she had a photo for me to have a look at. I opened it and crash went the computer. Luckily it looks like deleting off MSN has got rid of it. Just be careful what you open before opening it. ;)

yeah I got that one a while back :x it's a bastard cuz then it sends itself to all your friends too :x :x and cuz I'm such a nice, trustworthy person ( :P ) they all stupidly opened it, as I did... suckers. The free AVG anti-virus software cleared it up for me in the end :)

Might not be the same piece of malware... there are a bajillion of them out there that vector in via MSN alone. Remarkably, though, Trend Micro's virus database doesn't list any MSN-borne malware that does anything truly nasty, like install a rootkit, log keystrokes or zombie your computer...
