The safety-crats do it again.

With this little gem, don't they realise its a fricking compromise between getting people around and safety? Gos was right, soon there'll be a man with a red flag in front if they keep this up.

Exactly what i was thinking Dave, its bad enough someone doing 10 under the limit at 80km/h, imagine at 30!!! I thought it'd be totally counter intuitative.

Its unreal eh ?? Once the 30k limit has been in place a few years, and we have more people killed from road rage than MVA's, then what will they do ??

The only answer is to ban cars. Simple. People can use horses to get around. That will fix it !

Then they will start whinging about all the people who fall off horses and get ruptured discs !!

No worries - Ban the fucking horses as well !!!

One day, the lawmakers will simply accept that driving cars has an inherent risk of injury, and legislate accordingly. Don't expect this in your childrens lifetime.

Why can't they simply educate pedestrians ?? I guess that is too hard, look at the halfwit spokesman they have ...

I know I will be shot down in flames but in the CBD I think the speed limit should be a maximum of 40 KM at any time. I also think that all of Sydney's motorways should be 110 km during non peak times.
I also think that all school zones should have speed cameras.
And all speed cameras should be removed from straight roads like the M4 at Wentworthville.
Also if speed cameras are only used in black spots as reported by the government then why are they installed on new roads before they are even opened??
Remember, half the people you know are below average.

Build more barriers to keep peds off the roads and change the light sequence so when peds cross cars sit at a red. I think it's bloody dangerous allowing people to walk across and cars to turn at the same time.
