Now, before anyone starts, I'm not having a sook here OK!!!
Tuesday morning I started feeling a little crappy. I went to work and had my customer tell me to go home...I was scaring his staff and customers!!!! I was looking a little green apparently....!
So I figured I would have a few days being crook and then back into it!! Well I felt good friday apart from a nasty runny nose. So I went for a ride! Bad Decision! I have been flat out on my back for the last two days!!!! This one sat me on my arse well and truly! 38c temp, feeling like I just went 18 rounds with Mundine after calling him by a racial slur!!!!

So......That brings me to my next point. Flu shots are bullshit! They only protect you for certain strains. This one was obviously not one of them...

Anyhoo....If you do happen to get this one, I can empathise with ya!!!

i reckon flu shots are a waste of time, I think they fall into the murphys law category..

Like just washing your car/bike, you can bet a bird will crap or rain on it within the hour.

Everyone @ work that had the flu shot has had time off work so far, and for more than 1 occasional and for more than 1 day..
Me - no flu shot - no sickies.

By the sound of it, you got it pretty bad so I hope you feel better.. but for a lot of other people I think people are too soft thesedays, im sick of hearing them complain and put on *the voice* they need to HTFU.. a sniffle and a sore throat is not 'the flu' ..

i had a flu shot abt 5 yrs ago- it made my SSSOOOOOO sick i ended up in bed for a week- within a week of the flu shot i was crook....

so i havent had one sice...and ussually i might pick up a little bug and be crook for a coupla days....

this year i didnt bother, and ive been good this year..Clo was sick as a dog for a week but i beat it...i put it down to eating healthy again and playing sport and being fitter/more active..and backing off the booze has helped...

It's definitely a bad one this year, and heaps more people seem to be getting it. I've had the flu shots every year for quite a while now. I've had at least 4 of the people who work in my area get the flu this year and I've managed to not catch it although my glands have come up a few times.

Flu shots are not a guarantee, and like Marty said are only against the three most likely strains to be in Australia that year. What they do do is to expose your immune system to a variety of antigens every year, and even if you do end up with the flu, your symptoms will not be as bad as if you hadn't had the shot at all. A lot of people forget that they take about 2 weeks before you get full immunity too, so if you came down with the flu a week after getting the shot, you were going to get it anyway.

Even moreso, I hope you didn't pass it on to Mal to give to me, cause we're leaving Tuesday for CAIRNS for a seriously deserved holiday and we don't need to be taking any skanky germs with us

Try havin the flu and a cough with broken ribs oooooh I had it and wouldnt wish it upon my worst enemy, as for flu shots neva had one and this is the first time I had it in 5 years, drink lotsa fluid bud

I have had a few flu shots in my time but you should book in in april rather than going to the doctors in august for the flu shot and catching the flu while you wait.

I used to get it every year while cab driving some bastard would give it to me and you know if you have 3 layers of clothes on and the heaters on full blast and your still shivering that something is amiss.

The flu got hold of me last week as well. Thurs & Fri I went to work for three and four hours only to do what I had to before spending the rest of the day and all weekend in bed. It took me a hole week before I was feeling better.
If you think we have it bad how about the poor horses???
