Tax time...who uses Etax??

Postby Neka79 » Mon Jul 02, 2007 10:55 pm

i used it last year..went to the site tonight to fill in details and start the ball rolling, and be stuffed if i can find a way to lodge my claim..im assuming the site isnt ready or sumthin?

i downloaded the 2007 software..ive got last yrs details saved sumwhere..but be stuffed if i can find it...

did find the rates page tho (glad im a citizen..non citizens get charged ridiculous amounts of tax)... and the tax cuts they outline benefit those earning $75k+ ..so anyone between 30-75K gets raped in the ass (but more whinging on another thread)..

so ne1 looked at it this year?? .. was gunna have a sticky beak to see if i get sumthin back...

I just downloaded it myself.

After you save the dowload you have to go to the folder it is saved in and run the setup, this runs a setup wizard and puts the software required into the folder you have selected. You should be able to open the etax from there which will ask if you want to upload the default information from your 2006 tax return.

...ditto
and it also doesn't seem to handle capital gains on share investments
so another reason for me to have tax accountant
however
I use it to do my kids tax returns..and it does it well

cheers

Used an accountant for years, and he is great. Charge of around $100, then claim it the next year ;)

i used it for about 3 years.

but this year my work has bought out my shares...
so stuffed if i know how im going to work it all out..

good thing about etax, you got through, it estimates your return (or how much you have to pay)
then you go back and fix it up to match what you want to buy :D
being legal of course.
