Probably wont make you feel any better, but my pet hate is people using their bloody mobile phones whilst driving. How on earth did we manage to drive cars before mobile phones?

Not forgetting that those points are now gone for three years (reagrdless if you lose your licence) and that your greenslip will probably go up by $300 or so dollars as well as all other vehicle insurances.

Yes I hate them.... 2 sundays ago I pull out of the supermarket carpark and a bright green ford XR8 is roaring towards me... so I speed up so that he doesnt need to brake hard, or do something stupid like try to pass on this busy road.... I turn into a side road and he is right up my tail.... I slow down a bit, but he closes up even more so I speed up a little bit to keep a reasonable distance....

Then he pulls me over and gives me a ticket...

Sure, its my fault, for speeding.... but to be honest, when I am in the car I usually stick to the speed limit.... he kinda made me do it and then gave me a ticket for it...

Im not happy about it.......

Just helped my dear old mom get out of speeding fine from the beginning of the month, turned up yesterday in the mail, only problem it was from the ACT, AND she was in Italy at the time
So Rang them this morning and the lady on the other end says she will look at the pic, and lo and behold she starts to say that ONE of the letters on the plate is not readable, but suddenly stops and just says that they will cancel that fine. Now does that mean that if they cant read one digit on thr plate that they just send it out to everyone who could have that combination of numbers and hope for the best??

I know it sounds harsh mate but stiff shit, you didn't have to answer the phone and I'm glad to see that the law is being enforced on that one cos I'm sick of seeing people getting away with it. I have a relatively short ride to work each day and I saw three people on the phone within about 1km of each other and none of them were driving properly, all happily laughing away with whoever they were talking to without a care in the world cos they know they won't get done

Take it to court and tell the magistrate exactly what you posted, the cop was speeding then tailgating in an unmarked car and that you thought he was a hoon and behaved appropriately.

If everyone took to court every ticket including parking they would soon get sick of it,another thing that you can do is lay a complaint against the cop with the PIC alleging that he was variously un-professional,rude,arrogant or whatever subjective thing that you can think of because if he gets two citizen complaints against him any promotions will be held over for 3 years, just like your points.

An ex sergeant told me that. :)

The ex sergeant must have been an idiot. I have never heard so much crap in one sentence in my entire life. Besides which, a lot of coppers are recording conversations with members of the public for this very reason. It's always "The copper was rude", "The copper was arrogant"... I mean, for fuck sake, it's never "Yes, I know the law, I fucked up and got a fine and the copper was perfectly nice in the enforcement of the law."

The more people that get pinched for "False report", inlcuding those that make false reports to internal investigations sections, the better. And if you think it doesn't happen and that members of the public don't end up in court over it, then think again before you send of that "The copper was a cunt and I want to get off this fine because of it" letter.

Sorry to hear Adel, but sounds like you just need to cop that one..

What pisses me off on the road are the wankers that use their high output FOG LIGHTS when they are driving in non-foggy conditions ! that really pisses me off..
