After the beemer experience I should be saving some money...but I lashed out finally and bought a new camera to replace the one knicked at P.I.

I bought pretty much the same unit I had previously, other than it being several upgrades on, with a few more features on top. I bought a Fuji Finepix S5700. 7. something mega pixel thingies, 10 X optical Zoom Zoom Zoom, rapid shot mode for the bikes and anti shake for the morning after shots.

I think my old one was a 5000 Mike. Not sure as it was one of those things that you know when you research and buy it, then forget two months later! I bought a fair few new bits as all my stuff was taken with the camera...... Camera Bag, two sets rechargable batteries, two memory cards, Charger, Cig Lighter adapter and all the cables. I think the camera alone was $340.

I was gonna ask if it has Macro mode for when you want to take self-portraits, but I thought better of it because I still haven't paid for my last comment yet  so it's lucky I didn't ask that one hey?

My first requirement was long exposure times. Without doubling the price to go to a 2 minute exposure what i got was the best i could for under 700 at a 15 second exposure time on manual mode.

then 10x zoom, macro mode, lots of ISO settings, blah blah blah. Yours would be neat to have, if it goes anywhere near as well as my 5500 you've got yourself a very very sturdy camera.

I couldn't fault the previous S5000, so if this performs even only as good, I'll be happy. Anything additonal is just a bonus. The S5000 was a cracker of a camera with exceptionally good pic qual for a non SLR Digi. :)
