Mitsubishi are CRAP.!!

We thought it was time to update the Rodeo with something a little newer around Christmas. It wasn't going too well and the lease is up soon so we went to the local Mitsubishi dealer and put our deposit down on a brand new Triton..
That was on the 28th December and we were told the car would be ready in a couple of weeks, the latest would be mid Jan. A couple of weeks go by and we hear nothing so we call up to be told the car has been ordered and is being shipped over from Thailand... :?
We then enquire as to when the boat will arrive and we get told, it hasn't left yet and they have no idea when it will.. Another week goes by and we ring again to be told the same.
This goes on for another 3 weeks until we finally get told the boat has left and will be in QLD (great!!) on the 13th of feb...
Well that date went past and we still don't hear anything so we're back on the phone to be told the boat arrived but they haven't got em of the wharf yet.
Another couple of days and the story now is they are having trouble with the shipping company and they have no idea where our car is..
We are supposed to be leaving for P.I. in it this weekend, which now obviously won't happen.
When we told the dealer this a few weeks ago he promised to loan us a car for our holiday if our Triton didn't turn up. The dealer principle who promised this will not return our calls and is now not in till next monday, conveniently. His underling doesn't know anything about this promise and has no cars available to lend us anyway..
The contract we signed for this expired 2 days ago as it is over 30 days after the estimated delivery date....
Soooo we are screwed.... ASSHOLES.!

Thankyou

Send a letter to Mitsubishi Australia's CEO.
A good friend had a similar problem with Subaru and got well and truly compensated for the inconvenience!!!!!!!!!

The contract is VOID because the PROMISED delivery date has been exceeded, buy one that is in stock.

I wouldn't have bought a Triton in the first place. The head mechanic has had a couple as work vehicles and they're rubbish, so unless the new ones have something miraculous in them...
I like MrsBitchies - I've owned 3 or 4 - but if I were in the market for a fourby, I'd buy a ... ... ... ... Toyota. Ow, that hurt.

Tell 'em to stick the contract.

Mark, The contract isn't void but after 30 days from the estimated deilvery date, which it now is, I can cancell it.
The problem is, there isn't any in stock. This constant delayed delivery has all the new stock in it..

Yes they are much better. This model is totally new and has the 3.2l common rail turbo diesel similar to the pajero... It has rated really well in all the tests, better than the Hilux, Rodeo, Mazda and only 2nd to the new Navara. Its about $8000 cheaper than both of those too...

I may look at the Navara now as the main reason I didn't get one of them is that there was no stock and a 2 month wait... At least they were honest..

Well for a Company struggling to stay afloat here in Australia it might throw some weight in your corner if you mention Consumer Affairs or even A Current Affair for that matter. I would also contact Mitsubishi OZ here in Adelaide and ask them WTF!!! I'm pretty sure if you mention the right word like Own Business, Internet Forum Owner and word of mouth, they will snap up straight and get shit moving!! I would suggest you call them though and ask to speak to head of sales and PR.

Bad luck mate, that is pretty shithouse customer service......

I know the Toy Yodas are 10k more, but I reckon you will save more than that in service costs over the life of the vehicle.......

Mitsi's in my experience tend to make servicing simple things very difficult eg in order to replace a water pump on an L300 van I once had, you had to take the radiator out, followed by the harmonic balancer, the fan, alternator and cam-belt !!! servicing that shitbox was a nightmare.........the new ones may be way better, you would wanna hope so...

I've rang Mitsubishi in SA a few times, there useles, and they keep telling me to follow it up with the dealer...
I just sent them an e-mail and will follow it up with a call tomorrow,

I'd rip up the contract but I can't get another car as no else has them. Mine will get here when the others do...
