Yesterday this annoying red line come up on my screen. I have no idea what it is and wondered if anyone else may know.

Screen is a Hyundai, L90D+, 19" LCD, 8ms Respond 700:1, DVI

That to mean means nothing I am reading off reciept. I got it a year and half ago surely it has a bigger life span than that :? ... Doesn't it :?:

Excuse flash on screen

Could be faulty connection to your vga...or faulty graphics card...or it could be a faulty monitor. If it is the last one, it may still be under warranty from Hyundai, otherwise it is a trash job.

Try updating graphics drivers Lainie, might ot fix the prob but wouldn't hurt, could also try turning monitor off for 2 hours or so let it cool and see if it's still there.

That's an easy one. Your monitor is protesting at having to show too much leather clad Neka for an extended period of time

Sorry, not much to add about the monitor other than check the cable, and maybe see if it is the same with different resolutions etc....it's weird that it's a vertical line though

if it's been working for the past 1.5 years, i dont' think there's anything wrong with the driver and the software, unless u installed something naugty :D :D :D

if it's a red straight line then it's really hard to explain that it's the LCD because it can't be rite to have all the pixel lcd cells turned faulty all at the same time

so this leaves us the cable,

check cable first then call the manufacturer!

good luck with it :D :D :D

Sounds like the monitor to me.

It's very unlikely to be a driver or software problem, slightly unlikely that it is the cable, and a slight chance that it will be the video card.

Try turning the monitor off for an hour by unplugging it from the wall socket. Plug it back in again and see how you go.

If you have an old monitor sitting around, plug that in and see if it fixes it.

Also, trying pressing firmly on the plastic surround and the back of the screen. Does it go away?

normally 5-10 years, well depending on how long u have time on as normal LCDs have life span of something like 30000 hours or so which is equivlent to 20 years if u have time on 4 hrs each day or soemthing, anyway u do the maths :D :D

it's better to call the manufacturer then the retailer :D

It might be the wires for blue and green on that line of lcd's have parted company at one end. That "should" be repairable. Though nothing is ever guaranteed with computers.

Looks like you've got a faulty monitor there.
How'd you go with it? :)
