a few questions about australia

Im just curious if these things are the same in Australia as they are in the US. For example: People are afraid to say merry christmas here in the US because it might offend some moron. The last 8 times Ive flown Ive been "randomly" selected to be searched before I boarded my plane even though Im caucasian. People of middle eastern descent/Arabs wont be stopped and checked though because that would be "racial profiling". Nevermind the fact that all the terrorists who took down the world trade building were of middle eastern descent. Its also politically incorrect to say god, not that Im religious, because again some moron might be offended. Thats just the tip of the iceberg. I could go on and on. Im really disillusioned with where my country is at and where it is headed. Ive been thinking about making a change and I was wondering if things are like this in australia. Also can anyone recommend a good small college/university, less than 5,000 students, in Australia.
