And where do you draw the line? We stop looking for him because he is out there sailing, do we also stop looking for mountain climbers? balooniers? People who ride their mx bike in the woods unsupervised?
That said... I dont konw this guy, or his history.... Perhaps he is a complete moron...
We (i.e. Australian taxpayers) have forked out over $1million in rescue operations to save this guy
twice over the past few years.
He is no adventurer imho

PLUS..... the unapologetic bastard makes dough by selling his story to the highest bidder and not once has he offerred to contribute anything to the rescue services who bail him out. This doesn't only include the Navy but all the other services involved ie volunteer coastguards, rescue choppers, our ambo's, hospitals and the rest.
After two rescues I don't see why we don't refuse him an entry visa. At least then he wouldn't bother coming near us.
Clearly we don't leave him out there to drown, noone does that and hopefully never will, but this incompetent twat has to be discouraged from endagering others lives. Fine the beejeezus out of him and stop him from doing it.
Sir Edmund Hilary is an adventurer, this bloke is just a dickhead that can't steer a boat to keep it out of trouble.
