Young hoon loses Dad's Porsche
A P-plater with a need for speed has had his father's Porsche impounded by police after he was nabbed doing burnouts by two off-duty officers in Melbourne's east.
The 18-year-old from Mont Albert is believed to have left tyre marks stretching 55 metres in the car park of a Safeway supermarket in Balwyn after performing burnouts and doughnuts about 8pm on Tuesday night.
Two police officers who were at the scene seized the Porsche, and the driver is expected to be charged with several offences including driving dangerously and failure to display P-plates.
The vehicle was also deemed to be unsafe and was issued with an unroadworthy certificate. Because it was the driver's first offence, the car has been impounded for 48 hours with storage and towing costs to be paid upon collection.
