Waaay off topic.....

Postby Stereo » Mon Jun 05, 2006 12:26 pm

Last night I had one of those self obsorbed moments where I reflected on my life, my dreams and my hopes...

I came to realise that several things had to change in my life.... the most obvious ones being my eating and exercise habbits...

8 years ago I weighed in at around 90KG and I was pretty much all muscle... These days I weigh an embarresing 138kg (rounded up by .2)...

So, I have decided to lose that weight and get back down to around 100kg...

Why am I telling you? You are probably wondering... I personally find that I perform well when I am being scrutinised (in a supportive way) by others.... I am a really competitive person so that makes a difference to me...

The other reason is that people are often offended when you do something out of the norm.... So that said, it means that when I come to parties, unfortunately I wont be drinking like I used to... and your party pies will be safe...

Im going to be re-joining the gym, eating healthy and pretty much laying off the booze (I will still imbibe at some parties.... hey... im only human right!)...

So, just thought I would let everyone know...

Starting weight, 138KG.... 5 June...
Target 100Kg, 4 Sept

Wish me luck...... I need it....

Good luck mate, it's worth doing. I've lost 27kg in the last 12 months and am currently sitting at 93kg. Regular excercise and better diet were the key with a steady loss of weight rather than a huge drop in one go. The biggest hassle you'll have is none of your clothes will fit anymore...which includes all that bloody expensive riding gear you've collected over the years

Good luck Stereo. I also have dropped 20kgs. My loss was for different reasons, but all the same it does make you feel a lot better. Imagine how quick you are going to be on the six once your down to 100kg. They say a Kilo is a horsepower, so that means you will gain 37.2 HP

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

it is indeed one of my many reasons.....

as far as motorcycling is concerned....

1. It is better than a 37kg weight reduction of the bike
2. I will be able to buy better protective gear (a lot of brands only go up to XL) affordably.
3. I will be able to get my knee down easier
4. It will give me greater confidence cornering.
5. I dont wear out my tires as quickly
6. I will use less fuel hehe

Can we have a before and after test..... ...a 138 kg 0 to 100 with big leathers vs a 90 kg 0 to 100 with slim motoGP leathers???
I live with fear everyday but on weekends she lets me ride.

What you should do, is take an embarrasing photo of yourself in the nick. Send it to a friend who you really, really trust. Tell them that if you don't loose the weight, to send it to everyone in their address book.

That should provide plenty of motivation.
