Re: jobs

Postby HemiDuty » Sun Feb 19, 2006 7:23 pm

I have done heaps of different jobs, from technician work to farming and warehousing, mechanical stuff, internal sales, and all manner of labouring and shit.

Now I just sell guitars and stuff in a music shop, much easier!!! So if anyone needs anything related to musical instruments, let me know. Also starting to teach drums, and I do a little exterior cleaning on the side too... yet it is still never enough to keep tyres on this damn R1.

I am not telling my age  as some of you have chosen too! However I work for a marketing and advertising company, which also specialises in sales training. It is Auto Industry specific, and the best bit is I get to keep 100% of the profits! :D

Everything we build is from raw material, before it all gets painted, and we don't see much of the actual cars untill they roll past our plant on the way to the storage yards.

Since 1999 I have done an intensive study albeit unofficial of major pain medication and how it effects alcohol consumption and vice-versa new_Eyecrazy.gif just kidding Na really I am a full time single dad looking after my 2 sons which is rewarding but hard work. 8)

I am a fitter and turner by trade with an associate Diploma in engineering worked on heavy plant equipment in mines around Oz for years, did hydraulics (more money) and developed my own company specialising in HIAB type truck mounted crane loaders in Vic.
Looking at getting back into that industry off the tools as a desk jockey after many years recovering from a serious accident.
I’m not sure I could handle it yet, but will give it a go at the right price but fortunately had invested in Private Income Insurance policy 8)

Also ima licensed drainer, was licensed for; skid steer loaders (bobcat) front end loader/ backhoe & excavator operator, unlimited fork truck & reach truck, B class haul truck, grader, dozer, P&H rock drill & shovel for repair reasons. Have done many diverse jobs from a farm hand to driving a Taxi in Whyalla at one time

Big mean machines are my thing

That sounded almost like a CV

Up until recently I was the design and technical manager at a large construction company specialising in commercial building facade works.
(Multi story glass and aluminium buildings and the like)
I'd been there for 12 years, had about 7 or 8 ppl working for me and was travelling all over Aus and Asia. Unfortunately for them, they went broke.
I have now started my own business, with the wife, and we do the same thing subcontracting to construction companies..
Boring, but it pays the bills and gives us time with the kids.. well not really but we are in the same house with em
