All i can say to anyone wanting to be a mechanic of anysorts, its a dirty, stinky, messy job, your hands always look like crap, you will get sick of looking at other peoples pretty toys, and bosses usually only care about one thing and one thing only, the mighty dollar.
You'll have to start off as an apprentice, crap money, always doing the crappy jobs, gettin lunches everyday, cleaning up other peoples mess blah blah blah.
But in saying all that.......after all the crappy years, i now have a pretty good job, well paid and pretty damn cruisy. I've learnt some invaluable info, and saved myself a ton of cash in car repairs, and made a few bucks doin odd jobs here and there.
All i can say id if ya want to do it, get round to all the bike shops, speak to the service manager and run the idea passed them, even offer to come in for free on saturdays if there open, or a day you have off regularly, and learn the basics, and it will show them how quickly you pick things up, and they get a free slave
