On your knees and beg for forgiveness bitch !!

Here is what Alistair Clarkson had to say today.

Alistair Clarkson wrote:......Collingwood the best, says Hawks coach.

Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson has labelled Collingwood - the Hawks' opponents on Saturday - as the best AFL side over the past two years.

Clarkson said there was no doubt the MCG showdown would be a litmus test for Hawthorn and would provide them with a clear insight into their finals aspirations.

"It's a great game of footy because we're testing ourselves against probably the best side in the competition over the last 24 months so it's going to be a great test to where we're at as a footy club," Clarkson said.

A victory over the joint ladder leaders could put Hawthorn, with a big percentage, in line for top spot and push the Magpies further down the eight.

Clarkson said that would put all their talent on the line.

"You've got to try and win the game of footy so we've never been a club that holds anything back," Clarkson said.

"We just focus on how we're going to win this game knowing full well that in the space of six to eight weeks strategies and tactics and personnel can change significantly.

"When you're playing a side like Collingwood you focus on quelling their start and then they hit you in the back end of the game too."

Young Collingwood goalsneak Alex Fasolo said the Magpies would aim at trying to control the pace against the Hawks who defeated them in a frantic season-opener.

"It was a very ping-pong game in round one, it was kind of back and forth and there were a lot of fast breaks so we'll probably change that and it will be a bit of a focus for us," Fasolo said.

"It's another chance to probably redeem ourselves and we're really looking forward to making amends.

"It's round 17 so we've had a lot of preparation until now and we're definitely a different team but so are Hawthorn."

Fasolo played down speculation that forwards Andrew Krakouer and Brent Macaffer could soon make AFL returns after having knee reconstructions in February.

The duo recently returned to contact training but Fasolo said they were no certainty to rejoin the team this season.

"We don't really know if they'll get back," he said.

"We'll see how they go getting through this phase at the moment.

"It would be great to have them back before the end of the year but we just don't know at this point."

Hawthorn will go into the game without star forward Lance Franklin, who had off-field issues to deal with on Friday as well as his hamstring injury.

Apart from missing possibly the next two games, Franklin will have to face the leadership group after he was caught travelling at 90km/h in a 50 zone in suburban Brighton East on Thursday.

He lost his driver's licence for six months, was fined $599 and hit with six demerit points.

Clarkson avoided the temptation to rush skipper Luke Hodge back into the side for the big clash.

Hodge, who has overcome a knee injury, will resume in the VFL
.....

of course he would say that in trying to pump up the Pies before a big game - every coach of a top 4 side in the last few years has said *exactly* the same thing about the Pies before they play us - hoping that blowing wind up Collingwoods arse is going to make a difference and improve their teams chance of beating the form team of the comp.

Hawthorn need as many tactics as they can afford to muster. No Buddy No Hawks when it comes to playing good sides - who have they beaten recently in the top 8 ???   the only 2 top 8 sides they have beaten this year was the Pies in Rd 1 and the Crows in Rd 3. Apart from that - they just belt up bottom 8 teams. Big deal. Anybody can do that.....

Cats are no easy-beats and Essendon will have to play their best footy to win. Cats have the wood on the Bombers, you do know that ? Cats get up, Pies get up and your beloved Swannies are due for a loss.....Saints are in good form but probably not good enough to roll the Swans at home. Will be a good weekend of footy all round :kuda:

Jonno I hope you got that 50-spot ready to go mate !!!!!
