"See through sunshade"

Postby ZX10R King » Wed Feb 22, 2006 4:54 pm

They apparently are not see through, as a lady who pulled out in front of me explained.
I had to brake very hard to avoid hitting her, but was unable to make my turn, so I pulled up next to her, and told her what I thought. Including she should remove her sunshade..... 8)

Are you talking about those sun shades that attach with a little suction cap to the inside of car windows?

You may not believe it, but I've seen someone driving along with one of these attached to the inside of the windscreen in front of the driver.

Good lord.

Mate, it wouldn't have suprised me. But this was in Sydney.

Whenever I see those DC plates I'm immediately on full alert. They may as well have a sign on the back of the car "Look out, I'm an absolute maniac and have never driven a car before."

They're a frikkin' menace.

It'd be even more fun than getting your bike sideswiped by a state bus, as technically no one owns the damn busses, everyone claims that someone else does....

But theres more of those DC plates in canberra than anywhere else, and yeah, i learned early on to GTFA (get the fark AWAY) from a DC plated car.

Yes, I remember my first introduction to these one time visiting Canberra. I was being tailgated at 100km/h by a black E class Mercedes driving along at night with only parking lights on, on a road with no streetlights. My theory is they couldn't work out how to turn on their headlamps, so they thought they'd stick REALLY close to me and see what my lights picked up.

When I finally managed to persuade them to overtake me by driving slower and slower and slower, my headlights picked up the dreaded DC plates.

No, I am talking about the ones that go on like a sock over the wind down windows, so it is on both the inside and outside of car
