I prefer to get the flu whilst I'm relatively healthy and allow my body to develop it's own immunity to future strains of the same thing.

I don't even know where to start with how many misconceptions statements like that are based on.

I'd put money on 99% of them not actually having the flu, but just being pussies with a head cold.

I've been getting the flu vaccinations every year for quite a few years. I never get the flu and only have a slight reaction to the vaccine (sore spot on my arm for a day or two). If more people had the vaccination, less people would end up getting the flu. The less people who get it means the less it spreads and the less chance those who are susceptible will die from it.

I don't think I've ever had the Flu, and anyone who has 1 or 2 days of work does not have the Flu - it will floor you for two full weeks.

Being an old fart I have a flu shot every year. Stops me getting the flu but still get a cold bad enough to get time off work so I win both ways.

Keep away from other people such as old farts like me that have the flu and you wont get it.

I suppose that means that you would have to ride alone and not mix with others OR maybe it is a conspiracy by Yammy riders to keep Kawa riders off the best roads...ever thought of that....

Given your background Mick, I wont argue with you. However, since they can't cure the "common" cold and they still call it a medical "practice", I'm going to run with it. I've had the flu once in my life. Not about to screw around with the way things have been working.

You forgot to mention that surgeons work in a "theatre" ;)

Has Casey started bringing home every disease known the child kind from daycare yet, or are you delaying it until school like we managed to do? I don't think I've been as sick for so long with such a vareity of things as when my daughter started school  Either way your immune system will be in for a good workout

Anyway, obviously it's your choice if you get the flu vaccine or not, but remember that kids are at risk if they catch the flu...and you'll never hear the end of it if you're the one that gave it to them.

so i had the shot. hahah my eyes rolled in the back of my head and i was dizzy as. then i hit uncrontrollable laughter apparently that happens from time to time haha meh it got me 15 min from talking on the phones so im happy.

i havent had influenza before *touches wood* and ill do anything to prevent it! Its funny how the docs class the common cold these days as a dose of the flu... Or misdiagnose the glandular fever as the flu. Adelaide doctors rock... well the ones i go to do bwhahaha!

that glass of cement did me justice :kuda:
