Need a motherboard, IT geeks look here

Postby MrWasabi » Sat Oct 24, 2009 9:25 pm

Well my trusty powerhorse of a computer decided it's had enough over the last 7 years and decided to pop a capacitor. I was going to upgrade it anyway at the start of next year so I think it knew it's time was coming.

Anyway this could t of come at a wost time, I've also got a puncture on the bike so my finances are going there first.
To save me having to bring forward my pc upgrade, would anyone have an old p4 motherboard with an agp slot that they don't want or use? Happy to pay a reasonable price for it.

As good as the iPhone is, I can't do everything on it so I need to get my pc back up for a few months before I upgrade it.

I have spare computers, you can use one of mine until you get yourself a newbie (no hurry on that, I got it for free and don't use it anyway).

Tricky part for you is getting it :p lol

Just replace the blown cap. Thats what we used to do when they went faulty for customers. Better spending a few bucks replacing that then alot on a new board, unless of course you are using this as the perfect excuse to upgrade ;-)

There was a known issue with capacitors many years ago.

Dodgy electrolytic capacitors either drying up or falling off due to shit soldering.
